Ball width is measured across the widest part of the forefoot. Add roughly 0.2 in (0.5 cm) for a wide fit, subtract the same for a narrow fit.

How to Measure

Four steps, one minute, no special tools required.

HEEL TOE FOOT LENGTH
  1. Place a sheet of paper on a hard floor Stand on it with your heel against a straight wall. Keep your weight evenly balanced.
  2. Mark the heel and the longest toe Hold the pen upright and draw a short line at each end. Measure both feet.
  3. Measure heel to toe in a straight line Use the larger of the two feet as your reference measurement.
  4. Match the length to the chart above If your measurement falls between two rows, take the smaller size.

Initial Fit

Snug by design

A close fit on day one is correct. The wool lining compacts underfoot and the suede upper eases outward, so the boot settles into a personal fit.

Between Sizes

Size down, not up

When your measurement sits between two rows, take the smaller size. Sizing up leaves excess volume that the lining cannot fill.

Socks & Width

Allow for both

These styles are offered in a standard width. For a wider foot or for wear with a thick sock, one size up is usually the better choice.

Measurements are taken from the manufacturer’s fit standard and are intended as a general guide. Actual fit may vary slightly by style, last and materials. Sizes shown may not all be available for every product.
